| • Evelyn Jane Wickham (Evie) • Born March 27th • Indian • Muggleborn • Former Ravenclaw, School Nurse • Aries Aries Personality: Aries, the Sign of the Ram, is the first in the Western Zodiac cycle, running from March 21 to April 19. It is the cardinal Fire Sign, making those born under its influence especially energetic. Typical aspects of the Aries person include an eagerness to forge ahead and take risks, perseverance in the face of adversity, the belief that others are innocent until proven guilty, and an overall quality of leadership. These are counterbalanced by a tendency towards intolerance, jealousy, selfishness and stubbornness as well. The Aries individual can also be an extremely poor judge of character, concerned as they are with the surface appearance of things and people. Winning for an Aries isn't everything -- it's the only thing. The typical Aries female is slim and strong, toned and defined. A completely physical individual, you spend hours in the gym every day and the payoffs are evident and immense. You appear to have so much surplus energy that your very skin seems to glow. You hair is thick and luxurious, and you take much justified pride in its appearance. People born under the Sign of Aries are moving targets where love is concerned -- always looking, seeking and often finding. It can be very hard to resist the Ram's magnetic charms. Aries is an intellectual sign, but it is also an impatient sign; Ravenclaws who were born under this sign are likely to tolerate no dull wits or stupidity, whether they see this lack of mental competence in themselves (in which case they will berate themselves for not understanding, or give up quickly in frustration without really trying to overcome their difficulty in learning) or in others (in which case they will lash out at the offender with acidic comments and haughty, cutting looks). These Ravenclaws will want to be at the head of the class, dominating other students in their chosen intellectual field, and may be almost as competitive as Slytherins. However, the true aim of every Ravenclaw is knowledge, knowledge, and more knowledge. While a Slytherin might see losing a magical duel or being bested by another student in a DADA class as humiliating, the Ravenclaw will probably just take delight in competition for its own sake, and see defeat as a learning experience. |

| There really isn't much to say about Evie's childhood. She had a very typical family; her parents were very happy and they lived in a small cottage in Devonshire. She knew nothing of magic until she received her letter from Hogwarts and even then thought it was a joke. Her parents, however, weren't as cynical and they took her to Diagon Alley just in case. After all, if their daughter had a gift they weren't about to let her waste it. Upon reaching school, she was sorted into Ravenclaw and was very much a social recluse. She excelled in almost all of her classes, with the exception of Care of Magical Creatures and Divination. She was never good with animals and she didn't have the patience nor the depth for the latter. She poured herself into her schoolwork and left very little time in her schedule to make friends. Immediately after leaving Hogwarts, Evie entered Healer training. She wanted nothing more than to put her knowledge to good use, to save people. She spent 15 years there before she was made head of her department. It was then that she realized that the job was all about pleasing the board and not saving lives. She spent another four years at St. Mungo's before growing tired of the politics and resigning. It was then she heard of an opening for the nurse at Hogwarts; Madam Pomfrey had resigned in order to spend her remaining years living a quiet life. She applied and got the job. She's been working at Hogwarts for two years. Evie has always been a fighter, not a lover. Ever since she was very young, she would choose to stay inside and read, or study or work. She always put her job and future first, and claims she is far too busy for silly things like making friends or falling in love. There really is only one word to describe Evie, and that is snarky. As cruel as she can come across at times, she really is a caring person. If she didn't care, she'd never had become a Healer, after all. She has very strong familial ties with her parents, and would do anything for them. The same goes for the very small group of people she can trust enough to call friends. Despite the front Evie puts on for the world, a strong independent woman in complete control of her life and emotions, she's far more emotional than she lets on. She's easily hurt and her trust is very easily lost. Hence her intense fear of getting too close to anyone outside of her immediate family. She doesn't trust anyone else enough to chance having her heart broken. |
